When you experience an engine that doesn't start reliably almost every day, you take it in your stride. That's the case with Nuray, a teacher of oriental art and history. She's wearing comfortable leather boots this time. Does she already suspect that the '82 VW Polo won't start at all this time? As always, she pumps the accelerator pedal while trying to start it because the engine needs it. Nuray seems to be able to drive off straight away on the first attempt. But the engine doesn't catch and stalls because of that. This brought a happy smile to her face. So follow several failed attempts to start the car. It sounds less and less as if the engine will start.
Nuray demonstrates powerful, brisk pumping of the accelerator pedal. So that she can comfortably pump the accelerator, she slides further forward in the driver's seat and grips the steering wheel. The first scenes are seen from the driver's side. Then the same sequence of events follows in the pedal view. A beautiful boot made of fragrant real leather! At some point Nuray tries to start the engine without using the accelerator because it has probably flooded. From outside, standing on the driver's side, she starts the engine again and again. Now the engine seems to want to start. Nuray smiles hopefully. But the final spark just doesn't come. The view for this is from in front of the hood. (Three different angles) Nuray gets back in and starts up in the usual way. After further attempts to start, she drains the battery completely. Seen from the driver's side, back view and again the great pedal view. During the clip you can hear Nuray's - rather desperate - laughter every now and then.
